Performance Indicator Review (PIR) Process

Each year, the California Department of Education (CDE) determines participation in Quality Assurance Processes (QAP), based on the Annual Performance Report (APR) and California School Dashboard. The QAP is comprised of 4 processes: Disproportionality (Dispro), Data Informed Non-Compliance (DINC), Performance Indicator Review (PIR), and Comprehensive Review. Indicators are used to evaluate the state’s efforts to implement the requirements and purposes of the IDEA and describes how the state will improve its implementation. This webmodule specifically provides an overview of the PIR process, including a review of related indicators, and follow-up activities required for LEA’s identified as being in the PIR process, during the current school year.
