SEIS 101

In order to remain compliant and accurately document student level special education information, IEP teams must understand the finer points of SEIS entry requirements. In this training, participants will gain a sound understanding of the SEIS system and the importance of thorough documentation of student need and supports. Through a reasonably calculated IEP a team will develop a plan in the best interests of the student and support complete CALPADS data for the Quality Assurance Process reporting periods.

Outcomes:

  • Understand and implement current SEIS updates and/or changes to the platform using CALPADS information throughout the year to ensure compliance requirements and student performance and progress are documented accurately.
  • Learn techniques for proactively maintaining SEIS information to ensure district/LEA compliance to State and Federal mandates.
  • Develop and record reasonably calculated IEPs based an assessment information and resulting in educational benefit for all students with disabilities.
  • Expand their knowledge of the components and importance of Data Identified Non-Compliance (DINC) monitoring and schedule for data pulls.

Local Control Accountability Plan:

Student Achievement: Improving student achievement and outcomes along multiple measures, including test scores, English proficiency, and college and career preparedness.,

Other Student Outcomes: Measuring other important student outcomes related to required areas of study, including physical education and the arts.

Statewide Performance Plan Indicators:

Indicator 9: Racial/Ethnic Disproportionality,

Indicator 10: Disability Disproportionality,

Indicator 11: Eligibility Evaluation,

Indicator 13: Secondary Transition

Any of our Regional Trainings can be given at your school site. These Site-Based Trainings are best suited for larger groups, and locations where a version of this training is not already scheduled.

Site-Based Trainings generally require a minimum of 10 participants at your school site. Should you wish to have a Site-Based Training, but do not have enough participants, the SELPA may be able to pair your LEA’s needs with other local SELPA Partners in order to offer the training at your site.
