Individualized Education Program (IEP) Implementation
In alignment with federal monitoring requirements, the California Department of Education (CDE) must collect data on the implementation of student IEPs. To support this effort, CDE has introduced a new monitoring process focused on gathering information regarding the provision of prescribed services for students with IEPs. Local education agencies (LEAs) will be required to calculate and report the ratio of services prescribed versus those provided during a designated lookback period. LEAs are encouraged to review internal service tracking data to identify any services implemented at less than 50%.
Measurement Period: March-April 2025.
Data Collection Window: May-June 2025.

IEP Implementation Monitoring Resource
As CDE anticipates monitoring the implementation of IEP services, this document created by East County SELPA provides suggested activities and details to look for when preparing for IEP implementation monitoring. For these suggestions, LEAs can use data from CALPADS 16.6 reports or data available in their Special Education Data System (SEDS). Click on the link above to download this resource.
