The El Dorado Charter SELPA hosts an annual legal forum in collaboration with Heather Edwards from the law firm of Edwards, Stevens, & Tucker LLP and Lisa Corr from the law firm Young, Minney & Corr, LLP.
 
Heather Edwards represents school districts, county offices of education, special education local plan areas (SELPAs), charter schools, nonpublic schools/agencies, and private schools in various aspects of education law. She has extensive experience in the areas of special education, student issues, employment, labor relations, charter schools, and issues unique to county offices of education.
 
Lisa Corr has represented charter schools for over twenty-three years. Her primary focus has been in special education and the representation of charter schools in due process matters and in defense of Office of Civil Rights and California Department of Education complaints. Lisa also assists charter schools in day-to-day special education compliance and negotiating agreements with special education providers and authorizers.
 
Attendees who attend this event receive up-to-date information from attorneys with extensive experience in charter schools and special education law.
