The development of consistent and trusting relationships between students and school personnel can be highly beneficial in supporting and connecting students to their educational experience. Check in-Check Out (CICO) is a behavior intervention program between a staff member and student which provides daily personal contact between a staff member, development of a structured process of frequent feedback, progress monitoring, and student recognition, instruction and reminders in areas identified as needing development and practice, and creation of school-home communication pathways.
