Unilateral placements occur when a parent makes the choice, independent of the IEP team, to move their child to a private school. This webmodule explores different steps the LEA must take in response to the unilateral placement, as well as explores potential options for coming to consensus with the parent regarding the most appropriate setting for their child’s education.
